Just as I was getting into a reasonable rhythm of publishing photos here, my son got ill (nothing serious) and this website even went down for a couple of days. With no time to fix the site while looking after an unwell toddler, it's been nearly a week since the last post but here we go again…

Today's photo is a quick snapshot taken at Eltham Palace earlier this year that I really rather like for one reason or another. I was attempting to just take a photograph of the room itself; to capture some of the geometry of the design and the mustard yellow, textured walls. As I framed up though, this gentleman walked by enjoying the scene and listening to the audioguide and it all just seems to fit.

Eltham Palace is a highly recommended visit in South East London, run by English Heritage. It's 5 minutes down the road from us, so we go quite often for a quick lunch or a walk around the house or grounds. It's the rare English Heritage property that isn't a ruin, and is in fact an Art Deco mansion stuck on the side of a historic medieval hall.
